Newcastle – Southampton Preview

Newcastle United will try to win against Southampton in its first Premier League game for the season. These two teams will meet at the St. James’ Park in Newcastle. Stay with us and our free soccer predictions for today for the game.

The previous season was not really the best for Newcastle. Eddie Howe’s team was plagued by many injuries which didn’t lead to the performance they hoped for. But now the Magpies can try again and show their true qualities. The club management decided to keep the manager and give him another shot. And maybe this was the right thing to do.

On the transfer market Newcastle started making some good moves. The Magpies spend some money for Chelsea’s prospect Lewis Hall who the fans already know. At the same time they also brought in Nottingham Forest’s Odysseas Vlachodimos and Sheffield United’s William Osula. Meanwhile Paul Dummett, Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh left the team, finding new challenges.

Southampton are one of the newcomers in the Premier League this season. The Saints had a successful campaign in the Championship which allowed them to return among the best. The club has to thank the Scottish manager Russell Martin who did the job. But now he has a more difficult task – to keep the team in the league.

On the market Southampton knew that they should bring some new players. And they did. The club paid some cash for Manchester City’s young defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis while they also signed West Ham’s defensive midfielder Flynn Downes. And the fans were happy by the fact that Adam Lallana returned at the club – the 36-years old veteran could have an important role next season.

That’s the free soccer predictions for today for the Premier League showdown between Newcastle United and Southampton at the St. James’ Park. Let’s see if Newcastle can start with a win against one of the league’s newcomers.
