Milan – Atalanta Preview

AC Milan hosts Atalanta at the San Siro in a match from the 26th round of the Serie A. Just one position separates these two teams in the Calcio standings. Let’s preview it in our best soccer predictions today. Let’s go!

After 25 matches played, AC Milan are third in the Serie A table with 52 points. This puts them one position and 7 points ahead of their next opponent Atalanta. The Rossoneri were enjoying a good run of positive results, but last weekend they surprisingly lost against Monza away from home – 2-4. Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic scored for Milan, but Monza made one of their best performance for the season. And secured the three points.

Here we should remind you that Milan played a big part of the second half with 10 men on the pitch. The Serbian striker Luka Jovic got sent off in the beginning of the second part. This gave some advantage to Monza and they used it pretty well.

Now Stefano Pioli must decide how to construct his line-up in the next game. Luka Jovic won’t play obviously, but Rafa Leao, Giroud or Pulisic could return in the starting eleven. All three of them started from the bench against Monza, but entered the pitch in the second half.

Samuel Chukwueze and Noah Okafor are among the players who have to give more in attack. Both of them found themselves in the line-up against Monza, but got substituted in the second half. They are usually starting the games from the bench so they need to use opportunities like this one. But they didn’t do it in the last game.

In midfield Pioli could make some changes as well. The Dutch international Tijjani Reijnders is among the players who could find themselves in the line-up. He’s a good player so he could use a chance like this.

Atalanta will try to stay ahead of Bologna and keep its place in Top 4. La Dea are trying to qualify again for the Champions League, but teams like Bologna and Roma are giving them some competition. In terms of current shape, Atalanta are just brilliant at the moment – five wins in the last five games.

Atalanta’s current shape is probably making this clash at the San Siro more exciting than usual. On paper Milan should be the favorites, but in reality Atalanta’s form is better. This is giving the team from Bergamo some serious confidence before facing the mighty Rossoneri.

In their last match Atalanta achieved their 14th win for the season. Gian Piero Gasperini’s team faced Sassuolo at home and celebrated a convincing 3-0 win at the Gewiss Stadium. Pasalic scored in the first half while Koopmeiners and Bakker finished the job in the second half.

The visit to Milan will be an exciting one for Atalanta’s Belgian star Charles De Ketelaere who is making a great season. The 22-years old attacking midfielder is owned by AC Milan, but he players for Atalanta on loan. So far De Ketelaere scored 6 goals in the Serie A and made many

assists as well. It won’t be surprising if Milan call him back in the summer – he’s becoming better and better.

Ademola Lookman and Teun Koopmeiners are Atalanta’s top scorer since the beginning of the season. So far they have 14 goals combined for La Dea. Lookman missed the last few games though because of an injury.

These are the best soccer predictions today for the Serie A derby clash between AC Milan and Atalanta at the iconic San Siro. Milan are facing a team in a great shape at the moment so let’s see how they will do here.
