Eintracht – West Ham
It’s time for the Europa League 1/2-finals again! We are heading to Frankfurt where Eintracht will face West Ham United in an exciting second leg between the two teams. Let’s preview it in our soccer predictions daily!
Eintracht Frankfurt continues to perform in a very impressive way in Europe. In the previous round the Germans shockingly eliminated Barcelona from the competition and now they are very close to the final in Sevilla. In the first leg against West Ham they secured a 2-1 win at the London Stadium. Ansgar Knauff and Daichi Kamada scored for the visitors while Michail Antonio found the net for the hosts.
Clearly Eintracht are looking very confident at the moment especially after beating Barcelona in the 1/4-finals. Oliver Glasner’s team is trying to reach its first European final since 1980 when they triumphed in the UEFA Cup – Europa League’s predecessor.
In the weekend Eintracht suffer a loss in the Bundesliga, though. They faced Bayer Leverkusen away from home, but the match ended with a 2-0 win for the hosts.
West Ham United are not going to give up – they are just one goal behind and that’s not a big difference especially with UEFA removing the away goal rule.
Just like Eintracht, West Ham have not reached a European final from a long time. For the last time it happened in 1976 when they had the chance to win the Cup Winners’ Cup. Now everybody in the club hopes to see West Ham playing for the Europa League trophy in Sevilla.
That’s the soccer predictions daily for the Europa League 1/2-finals second leg between Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham United. The Germans are one goal ahead, but they can’t rely on this – this advantage is too small. Let’s see if West Ham can cause an upset here.
