Hungary – England Preview

Hungary hosts England at the Puskas Arena in a match from League A of the UEFA Nations League. Let’s preview it in these soccer predictions daily.

Being in the same group as England, Italy and Germany, Hungary are the obvious underdog here. To be fair – it would be success for them even if they win a few points. But playing against the best teams is always a pleasure. The Hungarian team should cherish this opportunity.

The Italian manager Marco Rossi starts another campaign with Hungary. He’s coaching the team since 2018 and even managed to reach the Euro 2020. Despite failing to qualify for the World Cup, Rossi is trusted by the Hungarian Football Association.

There are a few well-known names in the Hungarian squad. Basel’s striker Adam Szalai is the team’s main weapon in attack while RB Leipzig’s Dominik Szoboszlai, Peter Gulasci and Willi Orban are among the squad’s undisputed leaders.

England are trophyless since their World Cup win in 1966 and you can see why they are so hungry for success. The Three Lions reached the Euro 2020 final, but lost it by penalties against Italy. Why not winning the Nations League this time?

The team progresses well under the manager Gareth Southgate. The only thing missing is a trophy. He made some surprising calls for the next few games. West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen and Leicester’s James Justin are debutants while AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori  and Crystal Palace’s Conor Gallagher and Marc Guehi do not have much experience on international level. They will have the chance to shine now, though.

Meanwhile stars like Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Mason Mount are back in the team for the next few games. Man City’s Jack Grealish and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka were called again as well.

That’s the soccer predictions daily for the Nations League game between Hungary and England. Is it going to be an easy one for the Three Lions? We should wait and see.
