Croatia – Austria Preview

It’s time for Croatia and Austria to start their campaigns in the UEFA Nations League for the 2022/23 season. These two teams will face each other at the Stadion Gradski in the city of Osijek on Friday. Let’s preview it in these free soccer tips for today.

Being World Cup finalists in 2018, Croatia can use the Nations League matches as a part of their preparation for what’s coming in Qatar at the end of the year. They didn’t have any problems to qualify for the 2022 World Cup and it wasn’t a surprise, of course – they still have a very capable team.

Croatia’s captain Luka Modric return to the national team in the best mood possible. The midfielder just won the Champions League for a 5th time in his career. He helped Real Madrid to beat Liverpool in Paris for their 14th trophy in the tournament. Modric is 36-years old now, but he remains one of the best in the world.

Just like Modric, Austria’s captain David Alaba joins the national team as a freshly-crowned Champions League winner. The Austrian centre-back won the competition in his first season in the Spanish club. He’s one of the players who should inspire Das Team in the upcoming games in the Nations League.

Austria will face Croatia on Friday with a new manager on board. This is Manchester United’s former coach Ralf Rangnick. The German tactician replaced his compatriot Franco Foda who left the job. Now Rangnick will try to use his experience to improve Austria and eventually lead the team to another big competition.

That’s the free soccer tips for today for the Nations League clash from League A between Croatia and Austria. The visitors will travel to the Balkan country with their new manager, but facing the Blazers is never easy. Let’s see what’s going to happen.
